    “Stay Useless” by Cloud Nothings

    2012 - 02.07

    .

. Wah, Wah, Wah, Social problems galore, girls, guys, sex, no sex, “I shouldn’t have had sex with “X” because now I might have a venereal disease. We need more time to figure out all this shit out, unfortunately not all of us are Doc Brown. When shit does hit the proverbial fan there is always a 3:00 minute song to indulge in, to empathize with. All of our romanticized quandaries lay pertinent to some mid-twenty year old pounding his heart out on guitar strings, for this we have Cloud Nothings, because much like us, all they do is whine. And where there is “whine,” there is always “wine.” So “Stay Useless” and enjoy. Love, JF.

Alan Wilkis – Shadow (feat. Lyrics Born and White Hinterland)

    2012 - 01.31

    .

Alan Wilkis is back again with his second single from his “Prints” project. “Shadow” features White Hinterland and the vocal stylings of Lyrics Born. The verses are more intense and gritty compared to the smooth and airy chorus, showing both sides to the “shadow.” We look forward to new songs from “Prints” coming soon!

Lana Del Rey – “Summertime Sadness”

    2012 - 01.26

    .

I could see this upcoming album being a little boring and repetitive but I’ll still give it a listen since I really enjoy each song that comes out, even if they’re all very similar. I really love her voice and style which unfortunately doesn’t carry over live. Honestly that doesn’t bother me though. She makes good music. Just don’t see her live.

The Weeknd – Echoes Of Silence (Mixtape)

    2011 - 12.22

    .

I guess The Weeknd has a new mixtape out. I had no idea this was coming but I’m very pleased. An X-Mas present came early. These tracks are a little bit weirder and experimental than Thursday or House of Balloons but interesting nonetheless. Enjoy!

Rizzle Kicks – Mama Do The Hump

    2011 - 12.15

    .

I love Rizzle Kicks. Great video to a great song. I wonder if those are their parents. I assume so. This is on their album “Stereo Typical” which you can buy on iTunes HERE.

Ghetto Funk Remixes – The Icons Vol. 2 (Free Mixtape)

    2011 - 12.11

    .

Ghetto Funk Remixes has released their new mixtape called “The Icons Vol. 2.” It’s a great mix of old songs remixed in a glitch funky way and it’s really great. You can download it HERE and i’ve posted my favorites from the album below.

    .

Bob Marley – Jammin’ (CMC & Silenta Remix)

    .

Hall & Oates – You Make My Dreams (DJ Wood Remix)

Ray Charles – What I’d Say (Bobby C Sound TV Remix)

    Ke$ha Covers Bob Dylan… And It’s Good.

    2011 - 12.11

    .

Before you freak out like I did and question the existence of God or whatever you believe in, listen to this. I hate literally every song Ke$ha has done until now. This cover is the best thing she’s ever done. The vocals were recorded by herself, in her room, on Garageband. She started crying in the middle of the song but they decided to keep the original track in the studio. Its fucking raw, beautiful and dark. Do THIS Ke$ha. Not that Tik Tok bullshit. That is all.

Henry’s Favorite Video of 2011: Is Tropical – “The Greeks”

    2011 - 12.08

    .

This video is a slightly more fucked up version of every boys imaginary childhood gun fight.

Lana Del Rey – Born To Die

    2011 - 12.02

    [Side boob]

    .

Lana has a new song. I really really like her style. I don’t even love the music as much as I find it interesting. The production on this song is superb with a beautiful string symphony and a low bassy undertone. Lovin it. We also get a little preview of the music video (above).

Florence & The Machine – Take Care (Drake & Rihanna Cover)

    2011 - 11.26

    .

A pretty cool cover from Florence & The Machine. Her recorded live performance’s are hit or miss with me because she misses a lot of notes but her live shows are unreal. But this is solid and I recommend everyone purchase Drake’s new album. I wasn’t the biggest Drake fan before this album but it’s really great. I’m throwing in the original of the song above and one of my other favorites, featuring a Stevie Wonder solo at the end. Yea, you heard me.
