    D. Bridge – “Last Call”

    2011 - 09.30

    .

Finally. I’ve been waiting for some new D. Bridge. As a part of his new #FreshFlowFridayz, he’ll be dropping a new track every Friday and we’ll be posting all of em. Follow this dude on Facebook and TWITTER and check out our interview with him HERE.

    .

    D. Bridge – Last Call

    Payin' the bills...

Skrillex – “Syndicate” & “DnB Ting”

    2011 - 09.30

[Does this mean Skrillex is better than those people? Is Skrillex God?]

    .

The answer to the latter question above is no. Skrillex is a really hard subject for me to talk about. I dislike him but at the same time I move to every song he puts out (not to mention his set at Starscape was BOMB). That would include these two new ones, which are pretty different (better) from his normal style.

    Skrillex – Syndicate

    .

Skrillex – DnB Ting [PockX Extended Edit]

    Payin' the bills...

    MP3s and MIPs

    2011 - 09.28

It’s starting to rain here in New Orleans, I just had to pay $189.50 because the man is trying to hold me back, and I have nothing better to do tonight than write this blog post. But hey, at least the music is still good.

    .

The bangers always cum first (pun intended). Both the Skrillex and Porter Robinson track make me want to get up and just jump. Definitely excited to hear one of those at a show in the near future. Then, just when I thought my middle school hood anthem couldn’t get any better, I found Candyland’s remix.

100% In The Bitch (Original Mix) – Porter Robinson

    Bangarang (Original Mix) – Skrillex

Hustlin’ (Candyland Remix) – Rick Ross

    .

Funky Fresh. Justice rarely remixes a song, but I am in no way opposed to this one. Dam-Funk, also known as “Los Angeles’ Ambassador of Boogie Funk,” is someone who I will keep my ears open for in the future.

    Forever – Dam-Funk

Golden Age (Justice Remix) – The Asteroids Galaxy Tour

    .

Couldn’t write a post without putting in some hip-hop. If nothing else, please check out the song by NatNaiel. Gets really dubby towards the end, check it.

You Want The Same (feat. Mekaiel) – NatNaiel

    The Good Fight – Phonte

    .

And then there are the other guys…

    Running Blind – Jamie Way

Long Distance Lover (Motorcycle With Me) – Body Cheetah

Try A Little Tenderness – Otis Redding

    .

By the way…if you don’t like America, fuck you.

    Payin' the bills...

    Daily Dose

    2011 - 09.28

    .

Kraddy’s newest track is one of the most bad ass instrumentals i’ve heard in a while. I immediately tried to make a mashup with a rap acapella. I failed.

    Kraddy – Black Box

    .

Great, great, GREAT cover of Eifel 65. I miss them…

Yellow Ostrich – Blue (Da Ba Dee)

    .

I love the new Florence single and can’t wait for the album. The Weeknd adds his own touch to it.

Florence & The Machine – Shake It Out (Remix) (Feat. The Weeknd)

    .

I love Lana Del Rey and I love White Lies. Go figure.

Lana Del Rey – Video Games (White Lies Remix)

    .

Givers is a Lafayette, New Orleans band and they got an amazing remix by Bombay Bicycle Club.

GIVERS – Meantime (Bombay Bicycle Club Remix)

Curren$y – “Ways To Kill Em” (Official Video)

    2011 - 09.28

    .

Here’s what it is for me (just Henry, not the other SoS writers): 1. Nas 2. Curren$y 3. Dylan 4. Dylan 5. DylanDylanDylan. CurrenSy is just the shit. He’s so fucking good. His flow is unreal. His lyrics are insane. Walk around New York to his album “Pilot Talk” and you’ll see. You’ll all see… Here’s the song above and another track from his newest mixtape VERDE TERRACE and one of my other favorites from Pilot Talk.

    .

Curren$y – Ways To Kill Em

    .

    Curren$y – Job

    .

    Curren$y – Audio Dope II

Waka Flocka – No Hands (Neon Hitch Cover)

    2011 - 09.27

    .

A new Neon Hitch cover. Soooo good just like the others. The visuals on this one are obviously weirder but original nonetheless. It would have been better if the camera was behind her the whole time. I think we could all watch that for a while…

    Purple Swag

    2011 - 09.27

I can’t get enough of this guy.  I have been listening to him nonstop.  This trill shit is bumpinnnn and it gets a solo post.  I came across this remix and I think its better than the original.  Jim-E stack of NOLA adds some #chillbeachwavepopsurfjams to this dope track. Enjoy!

    .

Purple Swag (Jim-E Stack Bootleg)-ASAP Rocky

Goodbye to The Bottom, Hello to The Top

    2011 - 09.26

In this past week, music has been pouring out over the internet.  As I slowly filter through the ones I like & dislike, here are a few tunes (new & old) to get you started with your week.

    .

    Hip-hop

ASAP Rocky is getting alot of buzz these days.  Defintely watch “Purple Swag” because it makes you feel like your on purple drank and then takes you on adventure.  Moreover, I love how the video starts off with this innocent looking white girl then suddenly she has grills on and purple swag.  “Huzzah!” makes you want to grab a bat and break shit.  Skizzy and Mac dropped new singles last week and how can we not support these young guns?

    Back To The Future-ASAP Rocky

Huzzah! (Remix feat. Despot, Das Racist, Danny Brown & El-P)-Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire

    Together-Skizzy Mars

    Willie Dynamite-Mac Miller

    .

    Massive Attack-Remixed

Massive Attack is the shit. We posted this a while back but The Knight Riderz remix transforms “Teardrop” into a badass electro jam.  The Gui Borrato remix will mellow you out.

    Teardrop (Knight Riderz Remix)-Massive Attack

Paradise Circus (Gui Boratto Remix)-Massive Attack

    .

    Lana Del Rey

    We love you.

    Diet Mtn. Dew-Lana Del Rey

Video Games (Club Clique For The Bad Girls Remix)-Lana Del Ray

    .

    Chill me out?

Wow RAC covering Smashing Pumpkins is in automatic post.  Leisure has a sound similar to Coldplay, U2, and Radiohead that is combined into one mellow vibe.  I really love when the guitar comes in the chorus- it has quite a powerful presence.

    1979 (ft. Liz Anjos)-RAC

    Green Light-Leisure

    Gotta Get Down On Friday

    2011 - 09.23

Well, it’s Friday. Time to forget about the week we all just had, and focus on the three days that we look most forward to. Whether your week has been fantastic, mediocre, or straight up horrendous, I know you’re now ready to go hard. Here are a few songs that will help you get that adrenaline rush needed to stay up into the wee hours of the morning.

    .

Dada Life is doing some pretty huge things right now.

Prutataaa (Dada Life Remix) (Preview) – Afrojack & R3hab

    .

It is not too often that I come about a David Guetta song that I listen to consistently, but this R3hab remix of “Without You” is unable to stop coming out of my speakers. Usher beautifully prepares your ears for the hard drop at 2:15.

Without You (R3hab’s XS Remix) – David Guetta Ft. Usher

    .

    Some bass for your face.

    Firepower (Levela Remix) – Datsik

Bassmentality – Zeds Dead & The Killabits

    .

Ski Beatz has been stepping up his production game recently, and this song is a prime example of that. Tabi Bonney is an up-and-coming rapper from the DMV who you should be on the lookout for.

Hello & Goodnight (Prod. Ski Beatz) – Tabi Bonney

    .

When you get home after a long night out, you always need a song that you and your boys can throw on while winding down. This is it.

    Murder – I-an -I

    First Things First

    2011 - 09.21

    Champagne Facial: Sexy yet Elegant

    .

To start this post off, I’d like to hit you with a banger that is sure to make you want to rage your face off on your next outing. It is off Mark The Throne, a remix album of Watch the Throne, by producer duo Market Price. If you like what you hear you can get the entire album here

Murder to Excellence – Market Price

    .

If you like being hit by heavy bass, or banjo samples, this song is for you.

I’m Not Skrillex (VIP mix) – Rednek

    .

We all love to boogie down, and chances are if you are reading this you love electro too. Perfect mix of both.

Charlie (Vandalism’s Zombie Remix) – The Phantoms Revenge

    .

The rap game has a bright future ahead of it.

Hello (Ft. The Kickdrums) – Gilbere Forte

    BITSTU (Freestyle) – XV

    Sunsets – SLik D

Blown As Possible – SLik D

    .

May Tabol, lead singer of Pree, has such a beautiful voice. I would pay a lot of money to have her sing me a lullaby.

    Lemon Tree – Pree

    .

I chose this song to end the post, because it is perfect to listen to after ending anything stressful or strenuous. Whether it was a long day of hard work, or you just got back from the gym or a run, this song is there to slow your roll.

Left To Defend – Anthem Facility
