    One Thing Bout Music…

    2011 - 06.30

[MrBarolino stars as a robot in Transformers 3]

    .

Definitely the heaviest remix of Something About Us and I like it. I like it a lot.

Psymbionic – Something About Us (Psymbionic Remix)

    .

    Fugazi + Wu-Tang = Wugazi. Nice mashup.

Doomtree – Sleep Rules Everything Around Me

    .

Sounds like… Chill-Step? Does that exist? If not, I copyright that right now.

Seth Sentry – Train Catcher (SM Dubstep Remix)

    .

Two tracks from Rogue Vogue. Try not moving while listening to these. Impossible.

Rogue Vogue – Sunshine’n (Original Mix)

    .

Rogue Vogue – Breezy (Original Mix)

    *NEW* Bassnectar – Upside Down

    2011 - 06.29

[See the kid in the jersey front row? Right behind him is SoS's own, J Bucc.
    Always front row. Always.]

    .

Here’s the new Bassnectar song, just in time to get us pumped for Bass Island. This ones pretty simple and in my opinion, those are the best Bassnectar songs. This will no doubt BUMP on his sound system. New album, Divergent Spectrum, coming out August 2nd.

    Summer Sessions Part 2

    2011 - 06.29

    Summer vibin songs:

    .

SBTRKT just dropped his new album recently.  This guy is only going to get bigger.  I think this is one of the better songs off his album and I like how this is a live recording of it- so dope. (Turn up volume – recording will be appreciated more)

    .

    .

    .

This song makes it way to the top of this summer post for a reason…enjoy.

Just A Bitter Love-The Dead Rose Music Company

    .

Clearly I have been digging Emancipator hard lately.  This remixes album continues to impress me.

    Siren (Tor Remix)-emancipator

    .

I am not a fan of R&B, but I respect some of it.  The Weeknd’s “High for this” is one of the best songs of the summer hands down.  These guys are blowing up fast and I’m excited to see if they can experiment a little bit more with some dubstep like bass lines.

    What You Need-The Weeknd

    .

I love Lyyke Li and I have to thank no other than our friends over at Skeet Beatz for showing me this one.  She sounds good with an upbeat electrolyzed dubstep womp behind her voice.

I Follow Rivers (The Oos & Ahhs Remix)-Lyyke Li

    .

Made it’s way to the top of Hype Machine and when I believe songs deserve to be there…I post them.

Never Good Enough (The Killabits Remix)-Major Lazer

    .

This song doesn’t sound like any other song in this post, but it definitely belongs in a summer post.

    Tallulah-Company of Thieves

    .

Lastly, if you love M83 like we do, then watch this and try to match your excitement with ours.

    Artist Spotlight: K. Flay

    2011 - 06.27

    .

One of our friends sent over a track by K. Flay about a week ago.  The name might sound familiar as she does the vocals for Zion I’s hit “Coastin’.”  In addition, she has been on tour with Passion Pit.  Her music definitely varies all over the spectrum, which I think shows how much talent this girl really has.  She has some some serious potential and I wouldn’t be too suprised if she appeared on the top of Hype Machine more than a few times.  What I like about her is that she has the ability to not only sing a chorus like a pro, but she also shows a hip-hop side that puts her in a unique place as an artist.  The first track I have for you is her taking control of dubstep song by Magnetic Man.  I feel like so many people just put on dubstep and automatically think it sounds good.  On the other hand, when you hear a remix like this, it definitely sets the bar for skill. Moreover, I feel like a lot people don’t succeed like K. Flay does over this song…it’s just badass.  The second track I have for you is her going over a song by the XX and it sounds fresh.

    .

    Brain dead, hit the snooze
    No job, what’s the use
    Last night, pass the joint
Still life yeah that’s the point

    Less Than Zero-K. Flay

    Emancipator – Remixes

    2011 - 06.24

An official remix album of Emancipator’s songs dropped earlier this week.  I posted one song remixed by Ooah, but I have been playing this Big Gigantic Remix non-stop for the past few days.  Emancipator is true talent and the album includes artists like Ooah, Big Gigantic, Michael Menert, Tor, and The Great Mundane.  I rarely do music posts with only one song.

    2011 - 06.23

    .

Most of you have probably heard this already so excuse how late I am posting it but I feel like it deserves its own post. This is the definition of a Summer song. Just the right tempo to dance to while even better to drive to. I’m going to be blasting this all summer.

Nero ft. Sub Focus – Promises (Skrillex & Nero Remix)

    .

A lot of 8-Bit songs have been dropping recently. This one is great.

    Boy 8-Bit – Fire Extinguisher

I really don’t know how to describe this one but I love it. Very original sound.

    2011 - 06.21

Radical Something – Be Easy ft. Kinetics

    .

Radical Something is Loggy’s new group which is sounding pretty Shwayze. Watch till the end and listen to the clips of the other songs – they sound much better.

    .

I really like the sound of this kid. A little dubby and a Theophilus vibe.

    Jazz Cartier – Olivier Garden

    .

Recently, my favorite Tyler, The Creator song. The beat is too good.

Tyler, The Creator – VCR Wheels

    .

Wow. Mac Miller and Talib? Thats gotta be a dream come true for Mac (or it should be).

Mac Miller – Family First (feat. Talib Kweli)

    2011 - 06.20

    .

    .

    .

This is in my top 3 songs for summer…without a doubt.

    Liquid Summer-Diamond Messages

    .

    Well this accompanies it nicely.

    .

    .

    .

    Twice-Little Dragon

    .

R & B meets an edgy baseline (Goodbye Frank Ocean).  Game of Thrones is over, but Entourage is coming.  I can now look forward to Sunday night sessions with Broke Mogul.  There are millions of blogs on the internet and I truly believe that Broke Mogul is one of the best.  The things he has introduced to me are always ahead of their time.  Looking forward to a final season of Entourage.

    High For This-The Weeknd

    .

Sounds like a blend of Fleetwood Mac meeting Florence of the Machine & Frou Frou…or maybe I’m just on crack.

    Civilian-Wye Oak

    .

    Saxxxy

    Imagine-DJ Numark and Pomo

    .

It’s taken me a while develop an answer to the question, “what is your favorite band?”  Sure I could just name a band that I’m into at the time.  I could also not answer the question.  In reality, the answer is Beirut.

    East Harlem-Beirut
