    Robotic Pirate Monkey

    2010 - 10.28

Don’t let the name throw you off this trio from Colorado is the real deal. I originally found them through Hathbanger last fall and have been a fan ever since. They are blowing up around the CO area so I figured i would show them some east coast love. Into a Dream really caught my attention last night with a sound that i couldn’t really put my finger on. Be on the look out for these guys over the next semester; they could very well be the next big thing coming out of Boulder:

I’ve waited way too long to post this song. Reminds me of Aerodynamic a little. Love it.
    Digitalism- Blitz

    .
I’ve been fan of Keljet since their Love Lost remix. Their new Passion Pit remix is dirty.
Passion Pit- Folds In Your Hands (Keljet Remix)

Heavy banger for sure. Neck-breaking, if you will.

New Cee-Lo track. I’m liking everything I hear from this dude.
Cee-Lo Green- Bright Lights Bigger City

I decided that if I’m going to post the new (and awesome) Crystal Castles song featuring The Cure’s, Robert Smith, I have to post a Cure song as well. Enjoy.

The new Skrillex EP, Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, is so nasty to say the least. I’ve been listening to it for days and can’t stop. I’ve included two tracks off it and my favorite Skrillex remix right now. Check it out.

    Bassnectar Recap

    2010 - 10.25

Before I start i just want to make it clear where I am coming from. In the past year alone I have seen some of the best in the game; Deadmau5, Pretty Lights, Mimosa, Jay-Z, Kanye etc. and this was hands down the best live show I have ever been apart of. From the energy of the crowd to the set list performed; Bassnectar came hard playing for 3 hours straight. Highlights of the show include a cover of Flux Pavilion’s Gold Dust, a new song called Falling for the first part of his encore, and his own take of Imogen Heap’s Hide and Seek (yeah Magical World wasn’t even in my top 3) About half way through the show I couldn’t believe how big the drops were and thought there was no way it could get any heavier. I was proven wrong about 30 seconds later when he blew open his set with an updated version of Bass Head.

I really do believe this show was a stepping stone to something much bigger for this artist and i think everyone who was there can agree. What was particularly cool was how connected Bassnectar was to the audience, praising the crowd multiple times explaining how excited he was for this show and how thankful he was for everyone showing up.

I was going to post seedy youtube videos to try and give you guys a better idea of what it was like, but honestly they just don’t do it justice. The only way to really experience a Bassnectar show is to go.

Instead of letting you guys DL the new album for free i really reccomend buying it and supporting good music because that is what i am going to do. However, I will give you guys a personal favorite that is highly underplayed outside the Bass Head community:

    Bassnectar: Land of Lupes

    Guaranteed Weekend Saver

    2010 - 10.23

I’m positive that you will be playing at least one of these songs all week:

We have posted Knight Riderz remixes before and they never cease to stop killing it…the song title is pretty self explanatory.

    Westcoastsynthesizerbeachbumgangstermusic (Knight Riderz Remix)-King Fantastic

This next song was The Knock’s first released single from their upcoming album.  It’s a mix of funk and pop that gets you pumped up.

    Dancing With the DJ-The Knocks

I’m really digging this Nacey Remix because it is slows down M.I.A. and chills her out a little bit.

    Steppin Up (Nacey Remix)-M.I.A.

Catcall is an Australian artist who has a sound similar to Santogold.  She released “Swimming Pool” as a single off her upcoming album, which is set to release around 2011.  I expect to see alot more from her.

Swimming Pool (Remix Radio Edit) Mastered-Catcall

Bag Raiders dropped their new album October 1…really feeling these two songs.

    Castles In The Air-Bag Raiders

    Way Back Home-Bag Raiders

So Daft Punk showed up on stage with Phoenix at MSG….Hearing that made me get back into Daft Punk.  If I were to think of one more thing to add to “Something About Us,” it would probably be female vocals, which are so kindly provided by the beautiful voice of Shaprece.

Something About Us (Shaprece Reprise)-Daft Punk

Daft Punk is doing the soundtrack for the movie Tron, which is coming out soon.  They remix their soundtrack song to make a little bit faster, the remix completes it.

Tron Legacy (Daft Punk Remix)-Daft Punk

Lastly, if I’m going to post Bag Raiders and Daft Punk, why not just post my favorite Justice remix of all time? This song is wild so bump it!

Phantom Pt II (Boys Noize Remix)-Justice

    Glowing In The Darkest Night

    2010 - 10.22

New Pretty Lights EP is out and it is DOPE.  This is the third and final installment of the EP series to be released this year.

I don’t even need to tell which tracks are hot because they all are.  DOWNLOAD HERE

    Half ‘N Half

    2010 - 10.22

    .
Why complicate things? I got a post for you half hip-hop, half dub-step. Enjoy!
    .

Wale KILLS it over the Gyptian one-hit-wonder. Yea I said it…
    Hold You – Wale
    .

We posted a new A-Trak joint last week and this old one is more of the same greatness.
Mastered (Feat. Lupe Fiasco) – A-Trak
    .

Bagginz is an upcoming rapper from New York. This is a perfect song about growing up.
    I Don’t Wanna Grow Up – Bagginz
    .

Here’s three Krusha remixes. I love everything Krusha does. And I lied, the M83 track is drum & bass.
We Used To Wait (Krusha Remix) – Arcade Fire
Help I’m Alive (Krusha Remix) – Metric
We Own The Sky (Krusha Remix) – M83

    Bassnectar: 1st Bass Center

    2010 - 10.21

So I’m rolling to Colorado today to catch the first ever Bass Center, which is basically going to be the most insane Bassnectar show to date. Backed by acts such as Emancipator, Brother Ali, and Nosaj Thing this event will be nothing short of legendary. I will do my best to come back with some videos and pictures for you guys, but i make no promises. See you suckas on Monday. Womp Womp

    Dirt Nasty

    2010 - 10.20

God damn this song bumps. Were putting this on repeat all weekend:

Dirt Nasty: Miami Nights (feat. Ke$ha & Benji Hughes)
